In a poignant development for the rugby league community, former Parramatta Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur has announced his retirement from coaching due to a serious heart condition. Arthur, who had a significant impact on the Eels and the NRL during his tenure, made the announcement in a heartfelt statement today.

Arthur, who led the Parramatta Eels from 2014 to 2024, was known for his passionate leadership and dedication to the game. His decision to retire follows a recent diagnosis that has prompted him to prioritize his health and well-being.

“After much reflection and consultation with my doctors, I’ve decided to step away from coaching to focus on managing my heart condition,” Arthur said in a statement. “This was a very difficult decision, but my health needs to come first.
