Seattle Seahawks Nearing Deal with Connor Williams
Rumors have been circulating about mutual interest between the Seattle Seahawks and free agent center Connor Williams, and a recent report suggests that a deal may be finalized soon.
During an appearance on The Joe Rose Show, agent Drew Rosenhaus discussed his client’s status, indicating that Williams is actively negotiating with the Seahawks and other teams. Rosenhaus stated, “He’s in negotiations with the Seahawks. There are a few other teams. I wouldn’t be surprised if Connor signs within the next 48-72 hours. It’s a wonderful development for Connor, who had a heartbreaking injury in the Titans Monday night game. He was on his way to a Pro Bowl season and a lucrative contract extension before tearing his ACL. This guy fought so hard—we weren’t even sure he was going to play this year, and now he’s going to be ready to play in the first game of the season. It’s probably, in my career, one of the greatest comebacks I’ve ever seen.”
Seahawks beat reporter Corbin K. Smith added to the speculation, noting, “It would be a major surprise if Williams isn’t a Seahawk by the end of this week.” A healthy Williams would be a significant boost to the Seahawks’ offensive line, which struggled during the 2023 season. His return to form after a severe injury is seen as an inspirational comeback story in the NFL.
While the exact timeline for Williams’ readiness to play remains uncertain, his potential signing is eagerly anticipated by both the team and fans. The Seahawks are looking to strengthen their lineup and improve their performance for the upcoming season, and Williams’ addition could be a key factor in achieving those goals.
