Nottingham Forest are still in the market for a few players this summer as the new Premier League campaign draws ever closer to the big kick-off.
In the big picture, Forest has been fairly busy this summer, but maybe not as active as they have been in the past.
Forest will still need to address player departures, as Matt Turner was recently linked to a transfer to the Bundesliga.
Nuno Espirito Santo appears to be having some sleepless nights due to the defence, as Forest is currently seeking players for various positions.
During the current transfer window, the Reds added Nikola Milenkovic, but now there is talk of another centre defender joining the team at the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest want Sebastian Boselli
El Crack Deportivo in Argentina reports that the Reds are thinking about making a summer transfer for the Uruguayan defender.
Aston Villa, a Champions League team, will actually compete against Forest in this race.
Boselli, who is just 20 years old, made an impression in his native Uruguay before moving to River Plate from Defensor Sporting.
Marcelo Gallardo, the manager of River, is currently busy determining what to do with the centre defender, who may be open to transfers.
Boselli is exposed since the Argentine powerhouses are eager to create a space in their roster for a new foreign player.
Boselli has an intriguing release clause of just £15.75 million, which would make him incredibly cheap for Forest.
Signing Boselli could hint at Espirito Santo tactic switch
Although Espirito Santo frequently preferred a 4-2-3-1 style when he first joined the team in December, landing another defensive position could indicate a willingness to convert.
Murillo and Milenkovic are already part of Forest’s roster, so adding Boselli would indicate that the team is willing to use three centre defenders.
Boselli, who is 20 years old, is a very inexperienced player having only made 13 appearances for River Plate overall.
But Murillo was the same when he signed with the team from South America, and after just one season in England, he hasn’t developed into a player valued at almost £60 million.
Uruguay picked up Boselli for the pre-Olympic competition, but they were unable to secure a spot in the Paris tournament.
