Jesse Marsch Announces Planned Retirement as Leeds United Head Coach

Leeds United’s head coach Jesse Marsch has announced his planned retirement from football management. In a heartfelt statement, Marsch cited a combination of personal and professional reasons for his decision.

Marsch, who has been at the helm of Leeds since February 2022, expressed his desire to spend more time with his family and focus on personal health and well-being. “Football has been an incredible journey, but it’s time for me to prioritize my family and health. The demands of this job are immense, and I believe it’s the right moment to step back and recharge,” Marsch said.

He also mentioned the importance of new challenges and opportunities outside of football. “I have always embraced change and growth. Now, I look forward to exploring new avenues and contributing in different ways,” he added.

Leeds United acknowledged Marsch’s contributions, noting the positive impact he had on the team and the club’s development. The club will begin the search for a new head coach immediately.

Marsch’s retirement marks the end of a distinguished career that saw him manage teams across different continents, including stints at Red Bull Salzburg, RB Leipzig, and New York Red Bulls, before joining Leeds United.
