The Miami Dolphins announced two roster moves on August 29, 2024. The team signed long snapper Blake Ferguson, who returns to the Dolphins after playing for the team from 2020 to 2023. Ferguson brings experience and depth to the special teams unit, with 67 career games and two postseason appearances under his belt.
Conversely, safety Patrick McMorris was placed on the reserve/injured list. McMorris was selected by the Dolphins in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft and had a promising collegiate career at California and San Diego State.
Ferguson’s signing reinforces the Dolphins’ special teams, while McMorris’ injury sets back his development and contribution to the team’s safety position, creating a dilemma for the Dolphins’ coaching staff.
