Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is likely to miss the team’s next game after suffering a severe lower leg injury during the final moments of their 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in São Paulo, Brazil. Team doctors have since assessed the injury, and initial reports indicate that the severity is higher than previously expected. Love is now a strong candidate to be placed on the injury list.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur, while initially uncertain about the extent of Love’s injury, expressed growing concern after further evaluations. “It’s unfortunate. We’re still waiting on more information, but it doesn’t look good for this week,” LaFleur stated in a follow-up interview. Love’s status for the next few weeks remains uncertain, but the Packers will likely need to rely on backup quarterback Malik Willis for the upcoming game.
Love, who was hit by two Eagles defenders as he attempted to throw a final pass in Friday’s game, had to be helped off the field in visible pain. He finished the game with 260 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
With Love potentially sidelined, the Packers face significant challenges in their upcoming matchup as they await further updates on their quarterback’s recovery.
