Famous American singer, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, has opened up about the darker side of her stardom, revealing that fame sometimes feels like a prison. In a candid interview with GQ, the 43-year-old singer expressed how overwhelming her life in the spotlight can be, likening it to being trapped.

Beyoncé shared that she now creates music at her own pace, choosing to focus on innovation rather than striving for perfectionism. She explained that when she’s not releasing new music, she often retreats from the public eye to escape the burdens of fame. “I create at my own pace, on things that I hope will touch other people. I hope my work encourages people to look within themselves and come to terms with their own creativity, strength, and resilience,” Beyoncé said.

She went on to explain how working on her latest project, “Cowboy Carter,” has been freeing, but despite the liberation that comes with creating art, fame itself can still feel like a prison. “When you don’t see me on red carpets, and when I disappear until I have art to share, that’s why,” she revealed.

When asked about retirement, Beyoncé made it clear that she has no such plans. “Good music and strong messages will never retire,” she affirmed.

This revelation offers a rare glimpse into the personal challenges faced by one of the most iconic figures in the entertainment industry, highlighting the toll that fame can take, even on those at the very top.
