The 71-year-old shared the shocking news that she has been quietly battling multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, since 2018, leaving fans in disbelief.
The revelation was made during the documentary’s debut at the Toronto Film Festival on Sunday night. Scialfa explained that her diagnosis was the reason she had to step back from performing with Springsteen’s legendary E Street Band, where she has been a member since 1984.
