In a major development for the NRL, the Parramatta Eels have officially traded star five-eighth Dylan Brown to the New Zealand Warriors on a 3-year deal. The high-profile move has sent shockwaves through the rugby league community, as Brown had been a key player for the Eels and was considered a cornerstone of the club’s future.

The deal, reportedly worth around $2.4 million, will see Brown return to New Zealand, where he was born, to join a Warriors side that has been aggressively reshaping its roster in a bid to become a top contender in the league. Brown, who has become one of the NRL’s most exciting playmakers, is expected to make an immediate impact for the Warriors as they look to bolster their attacking depth.

Warriors coach Andrew Webster expressed his excitement about securing Brown, saying, “Dylan is a world-class player who brings a lot of creativity and leadership to the team. He’s exactly the type of player we need to take our game to the next level, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.”

Brown has been a standout for Parramatta since making his NRL debut in 2019. Known for his exceptional vision, running game, and defensive prowess, he quickly became a fan favorite and one of the Eels’ most reliable players. Over the course of his time at Parramatta, Brown played 80 games and scored 22 tries, helping the team make deep runs in the finals series.

The trade is expected to have a significant impact on both teams, with Brown set to play a leading role for the Warriors in the coming seasons. Meanwhile, the Eels will now focus on rebuilding and investing in new talent as they look to remain competitive in the NRL.
