Brussels, Belgium – Four-time Grand Slam champion Kim Clijsters was involved in a devastating car accident on the E40 highway near Brussels, leaving one person dead and several others injured.
According to eyewitnesses, Clijsters’ vehicle collided with another car around 10 pm local time. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but one passenger in the other vehicle succumbed to injuries.
Clijsters, 39, was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Her condition is stable, but she is shaken.
