Country Music Legend Vince Gill Rushed to Hospital After Collapsing Outside Church
Nashville, Tennessee, May 1, 2023 – Country music icon Vince Gill was rushed to a local hospital after collapsing outside a Nashville church on Sunday morning.
According to eyewitnesses, Gill was exiting the Church of Christ at 4104 Hillsboro Pike around 11:30 am CDT when he suddenly lost consciousness and fell to the ground. The church’s staff and emergency services were immediately called to the scene.
Gill, a 64-year-old singer-songwriter and member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, was reportedly in good spirits and singing during the morning service. However, it appears that he may have suffered a sudden medical episode that caused him to collapse.
“I was standing outside the church, chatting with some friends, when I saw Vince just slump over,” said church member, Emily Wilson. “It was like he just froze in place. We all rushed to his side to help him and called 911 right away.”
Gill was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was treated for an undisclosed medical condition. His representative has released a statement confirming that he is receiving medical attention and is expected to make a full recovery.
“Vince is receiving the best care possible and is expected to make a full recovery,” said Gill’s representative. “We appreciate the outpouring of support from fans and well-wishers during this time.”
The country music community is rallying around Gill, with many artists expressing their concern and support for him on social media.
“Sending all my love and prayers to Vince Gill,” said fellow country star, Carrie Underwood. “Hope you’re okay, Vince!”
Gill’s wife, Amy Grant, also took to social media to express her gratitude for the support and well-wishes.
“Vince is in good hands and we’re grateful for all the prayers and support,” said Grant. “We’ll keep you updated on his progress.”
