Parramatta Eels assistant coach Trent Barrett has made a full recovery and returned to the club after collapsing during a training session last week. The incident, which shocked players and staff alike, occurred unexpectedly, prompting immediate medical attention.
Barrett, a seasoned figure in the rugby league world, was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital where he underwent a series of medical tests. Fortunately, doctors later confirmed that Barrett’s collapse was not related to any serious underlying condition. After a period of rest and observation, he has now been cleared to resume his duties.
In a statement released by the Eels, Barrett thanked the medical team and the club for their swift action and support during his recovery. “I’m feeling much better now and just really grateful for the care I received. It was a bit of a scare, but I’m looking forward to getting back to work and helping the team finish the season strong,” Barrett said.
The Parramatta Eels expressed relief at Barrett’s return, with Head Coach Brad Arthur acknowledging how crucial Barrett is to their coaching setup. “Trent is an integral part of our team. We’re just happy to have him back and healthy,” Arthur stated.
The Eels are now focused on their preparations for the upcoming games, with Barrett’s return providing an emotional boost to the team as they aim to make a strong push in the latter stages of the season.
