BREAKING: Brisbane Broncos Sack Coach Kelvin Walters After…

The Brisbane Broncos have officially parted ways with head coach Kevin Walters, just one year after he led the team to the NRL Grand Final. This decision follows a disappointing 2024 season in which the Broncos finished in 12th place, marking the club’s worst single-season drop in its history.

Walters, who has been at the helm for four years, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to coach the team, noting the personal toll of the role and his desire to spend more time with family. He highlighted the progress made during his tenure, particularly the leap from a wooden spoon finish in 2020 to a Grand Final appearance in 2023. Broncos chairman Karl Morris and CEO Dave Donaghy both praised Walters’ dedication and contributions to the club, calling him a club legend.

The decision was made after a comprehensive club review, and it appears to have been a mutual agreement between Walters and the Broncos. The search for a new head coach is now underway, with names like Michael Maguire and Josh Hannay being considered as potential replacements.
