Iconic Musician Nikki Sixx Announces New Album Release After Replacing Mick Mars in Mötley Crüe
American iconic musician and bassist Nikki Sixx, best known as the driving creative force behind Mötley Crüe, has officially announced the release of a new album titled “Phoenix Rising”. The announcement comes after Sixx stepped into a dual role, taking on additional responsibilities following the departure of longtime guitarist Mick Mars.
The highly anticipated album is set to release on “February 15, 2025”, and marks a new chapter in the band’s storied career. Sixx, who has been a core member of Mötley Crüe since its inception, described the project as a reinvention of their sound while staying true to the band’s rebellious roots.
“This album is about rebirth and resilience,” Sixx said during a press event. “We’ve been through so much as a band—loss, change, and evolution—but the spirit of Mötley Crüe is stronger than ever. “Phoenix Rising” is a testament to that.”
The album features collaborations with the band’s newest member, guitarist John 5, who replaced Mars following his retirement from touring due to health issues. Sixx praised John 5’s contributions, calling him “an electrifying force that has brought new energy to the group.”
The first single from the album, titled “Shattered Mirrors”, will debut on streaming platforms next month. Early reports suggest the track is a hard-hitting anthem that combines classic Crüe elements with a modern edge, reflecting the band’s ability to adapt to changing musical landscapes.
Mick Mars, who retired from touring in 2022 due to ongoing struggles with ankylosing spondylitis, offered his support for the project in a recent statement. “I’m excited to see where Nikki and the guys take the music. They’ve always had a way of pushing boundaries,” Mars said.
Mötley Crüe’s upcoming tour, titled “Phoenix World Tour 2025”, will kick off in March, with stops in North America, Europe, and Asia. Fans are already buzzing with excitement, eager to hear the new material live alongside their classic hits.
With “Phoenix Rising”, Nikki Sixx and Mötley Crüe aim to solidify their legacy as one of rock’s most enduring and innovative bands. As Sixx put it, “This isn’t just an album—it’s a statement that Mötley Crüe is here to stay.”
