The high school basketball season is officially underway, and the rankings are in.

 

Columbus High School (FL) takes the No. 1 spot in the initial rankings, spearheaded by Duke commits Cameron Boozer (ranked No. 2 in ESPN’s 2025 Top 100) and Cayden Boozer (No. 17). The Explorers aim to improve on last year’s impressive 28-win season. Their roster also includes standout juniors Caleb Gaskins (No. 10 in the 2026 ESPN 60) and Jaxon Richardson (No. 28 in the same class).

 

At No. 2 is Link Academy (MO), which boasts six ESPN-ranked players, including Chris Cenac Jr., a top-10 big man ranked No. 7 in ESPN’s 2025 Top 100.

The top five is rounded out by Long Island Lutheran (NY), Montverde Academy (FL), and Prolific Prep (CA)—all of which qualified for last season’s Chipotle Nationals, where Montverde claimed the title with a 79-63 win over Paul VI.

 

Among the highlights from this season, San Antonio Brennan (TX), ranked No. 21, clinched a thrilling 88-86 win over Dynamic Prep (TX) thanks to Houston commit Kingston Flemings (No. 21 in ESPN’s 2025 Top 100), who sealed the victory with a game-winning dunk.
