In a commanding performance, the Florida Gators overwhelmed Wake Forest in a decisive 38-13 victory, erasing the memory of last year’s disappointing loss. The game, played at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, showcased the Gators’ improved form and relentless energy on both sides of the ball.
Florida’s quarterback, Jack Miller III, led the charge with precision passing and timely runs, finishing with 325 passing yards and three touchdowns. The Gators’ running back tandem, Trevor Etienne and Montrell Johnson Jr., contributed a combined 187 rushing yards, consistently breaking tackles and keeping the Wake Forest defense off balance.
Defensively, Florida smothered the Demon Deacons’ offense, forcing two turnovers and sacking Wake Forest quarterback Mitch Griffis four times. The secondary also limited Wake’s passing attack, holding them to just 175 yards through the air.
“We knew this game was personal after last year,” said Florida head coach Billy Napier. “Our guys came out focused and executed our game plan perfectly.”
The victory bolsters the Gators’ postseason aspirations and gives fans renewed confidence in the team’s ability to compete against tougher SEC opponents. With this win, Florida improves to 7-4 on the season and builds momentum heading into their rivalry clash against Florida State.
