Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones did not hold back after the team’s disappointing loss, pinning the blame on cornerback Amani Oruwariye for a crucial late-game error.
Speaking to reporters post-game, Jones expressed frustration over what he called a “mental lapse” that cost the Cowboys the game. “At this level, you can’t afford to make those kinds of mistakes,” Jones said. “We expect our players to rise to the occasion, not hand the game away.”
The harsh critique comes after Oruwariye committed a costly penalty in the fourth quarter, extending the opposing team’s drive and ultimately sealing the Cowboys’ defeat.
This loss puts added pressure on the Cowboys, who are fighting for playoff positioning, and raises questions about Oruwariye’s future with the team. Jones’ comments suggest changes could be on the horizon as the Cowboys look to bounce back.
