The Chicago Bulls announced today that rookie guard Dalen Terry has been suspended for the next 5 games due to a tragic loss that occurred during his personal life.
According to sources close to the team, Terry suffered the loss of a close family member, which has left him devastated and unable to focus on his basketball career. The team has been supporting Terry throughout this difficult time and has given him the necessary time off to grieve and come to terms with the loss.
“We are deeply saddened by Dalen’s loss and are doing everything in our power to support him during this difficult time,” said Bulls General Manager, Marc Lore. “We understand that basketball is just a game, and sometimes life can be cruel. We hope that with this suspension, Dalen will have the time and space he needs to heal and come back stronger than ever.”
Terry, who was drafted by the Bulls with the 38th overall pick in this year’s NBA draft, has been a bright spot for the team so far this season. He has averaged 7 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists per game while shooting 45% from beyond the arc.
The suspension will begin immediately and Terry will miss the next 5 games for the Bulls. During this time, he will not be allowed to participate in any team activities or games.
The Bulls organization wishes Terry all the best during this difficult time and hopes that he will return to the court stronger and more focused than ever.
