Golden State Warriors veteran Kevon Looney has officially announced his retirement from the NBA, ending a remarkable career spent entirely with the Warriors organization. Looney, known for his resilience, leadership, and pivotal role in Golden State’s championship runs, leaves behind a legacy as one of the most reliable and respected players in the league.

In a press conference held at Chase Center, Looney expressed his gratitude to the Warriors organization, his teammates, and fans. “It’s been an incredible journey. From being drafted to winning championships and playing alongside some of the greatest players in the game, I couldn’t have asked for a better career. Golden State has been my home, and I’m proud to retire as a Warrior,” Looney said.

The 6-foot-9 forward/center was drafted by the Warriors in 2015 as the 30th overall pick and quickly became a cornerstone of their defense and rebounding efforts. Known for his durability and ability to adapt to different roles, Looney was instrumental in helping the Warriors secure multiple NBA titles during his tenure.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr praised Looney, calling him “the ultimate team player.” Kerr added, “Kevon has been the heart and soul of this team. His work ethic and selflessness are unparalleled. We’re going to miss him on the court, but his influence will be felt for years to come.”

Looney’s decision to retire comes after an illustrious 10-season career marked by his consistent contributions in high-stakes moments. While the Warriors have not yet announced plans to honor Looney’s legacy, speculation has already begun about the potential retirement of his No. 5 jersey.

Fans took to social media to express their admiration for Looney, with many calling him one of the most underrated players in the NBA.

As Kevon Looney steps away from professional basketball, he leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, humility, and excellence—a true Warrior in every sense.
