Green Bay Packers Pull Off Stunning Trade, Acquire Patriots’ $27 Million Tight End in Exchange for Jordan Love Help
Due to the Packers’ need for a playmaking tight end and the Patriots’ desire to revamp their offense, the Green Bay Packers have agreed to a shocking trade proposal with the New England Patriots.
According to sources, the Packers have acquired star tight end, *Hunter Henry*, from the Patriots in exchange for a package centered around quarterback *Jordan Love*, a 2025 3rd-round draft pick, and a 2026 conditional 2nd-round pick.
Henry, a seven-year NFL veteran, has been a stalwart in New England’s offense, catching 36 touchdowns in 73 games over the past four seasons. The 27-year-old tight end is set to enter the final year of his four-year, $42 million contract extension, with a $10 million salary and a $17 million cap hit in 2025.
“We’re thrilled to add Hunter to our roster, and we’re confident that he’ll make an immediate impact on our offense,” said Packers General Manager, Brian Gutekunst. “Hunter is an elite tight end with game-changing abilities, and we believe he’ll help us take our offense to the next level.”
In return, the Patriots are expected to receive a package centered around quarterback *Jordan Love*, who is widely believed to be the heir apparent to Aaron Rodgers. The 24-year-old quarterback has two years of NFL experience under his belt, including a promising rookie campaign in 2022.
While the terms of the trade have not been officially disclosed, it’s understood that the Patriots are motivated by a desire to accelerate their quarterback room for the present season, with Mac Jones facing stiff competition from younger signal-callers.
The trade represents a major development in the NFL’s tight end market, with several teams now scrambling to secure a top-tier tight end for the 2025 season. For the Packers, the addition of Hunter Henry could help solidify their position as one of the top contenders in the NFC North.
