BREAKING NEWS: Fiji Rugby Unveils U20 Squad for Oceania Rugby Challenge in…

In a major development for Fijian rugby, the Fiji Rugby Union has officially announced its 30-member Under-20 squad for the upcoming 2025 Oceania Rugby U20s Challenge. The tournament, set to kick off on May 28 in Nadi, will feature promising young talents representing Fiji against other top Pacific nations including Tonga, Samoa, and Canada.

Head Coach Apisai Sailada, along with his selectors, has named a dynamic squad comprising a mix of Super Rugby Pacific experience and fresh, local talent. Notable inclusions are Fijian Drua’s rising half-backs Philip Baselala and Sikeli Rabitu, who bring invaluable exposure and leadership to the age-grade side. These players are expected to play pivotal roles both on and off the field as Fiji eyes a strong campaign.

“We’re very pleased with the depth and quality in this group,” said Coach Sailada. “The players selected have earned their places through hard work and consistent performance. This tournament is a key part of our development strategy, and we’re confident they will represent Fiji with pride and intensity.”

The squad also features exciting young prospects such as Sikeli Basiyalo, Aisea Tuisese, and Aisea Nawai—development players who have shown tremendous potential in recent domestic competitions. Their inclusion underscores Fiji Rugby’s commitment to nurturing future stars and maintaining a sustainable pipeline to the national senior teams.
