The Pittsburgh Steelers have locked in their leader for the foreseeable future. Head Coach Mike Tomlin has officially signed a five-year contract extension, ensuring he remains at the helm through the [2029/2030] NFL season, the team announced today.

Tomlin, who has led the Steelers since 2007, is the longest-tenured head coach in the NFL and one of the most respected figures in the league. Known for his no-nonsense leadership style, consistency, and ability to motivate players, Tomlin has never had a losing season in his 18 years with the franchise — a remarkable accomplishment in modern professional sports.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Coach Tomlin,” said Steelers President Art Rooney II. “His leadership on and off the field speaks for itself, and we believe he’s the right person to guide us into the next era of Steelers football.”

Under Tomlin, the Steelers have made multiple playoff appearances, captured the Super Bowl XLIII title, and remained competitive in one of the league’s toughest divisions.

In a statement, Tomlin expressed gratitude and excitement: “Pittsburgh is home. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished and even more excited about what lies ahead. We have a hungry team, a strong culture, and unfinished business.”

With a young core of talent and strong front office support, Tomlin’s extension sends a clear message: the Steelers are all-in on building toward another championship run.
