In an inspiring act of generosity, Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood has donated his entire £10 million performance bonus and endorsement contract earnings to charitable organizations and homelessness relief efforts across the UK and New Zealand.

The 32-year-old forward, known for his powerful presence on the pitch, cited his personal experiences growing up in modest conditions and witnessing rising homelessness in both his home country and adopted communities as the driving force behind his decision.

“Football has given me a platform and a life I never dreamed of,” Wood said in an emotional statement. “But I’ve never forgotten where I came from. Too many people are struggling to survive day to day, and it’s time we used our blessings to help those in need.”

The donation will be split among several organizations, including Shelter UK, Crisis, the New Zealand Housing Foundation, and local Nottingham outreach programs. A portion will also go toward building transitional housing and funding mental health support services.

Nottingham Forest praised Wood’s actions, calling them “a reflection of his character both as a leader on the pitch and a role model off it.”

Fans across social media are hailing the move as one of the most selfless gestures in recent football history.

Chris Wood continues to prove that true greatness isn’t just measured in goals — but in heart.
