The Miami Heat have taken a promising step in bolstering their backcourt by signing Caleb Daniels, a former Villanova guard, to an Exhibit 10 contract. This move allows Daniels to compete for a two-way deal and a potential spot on the Heat’s main roster during training camp. Known for his sharp shooting and high basketball IQ, Daniels joins the team after a strong season with the Miami Heat’s G-League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

In the 2023-24 season, Daniels played 31 games with Skyforce, starting 22 of them. He averaged an impressive 12.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while playing 31.5 minutes per game. Shooting 43.4% from the field, 34.5% from three-point range, and 85% from the free-throw line, he demonstrated his ability to be an effective scorer. His season included 21 double-digit scoring performances and six games with 20 or more points, including a stretch where he notched four consecutive 20-point games.

Daniels also made his presence felt during the 2023 NBA Summer League, where he averaged 5.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists, helping the Heat win the NBA2K25 Summer League championship in Las Vegas. His performance was highlighted by an impressive 4-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio, committing only three turnovers across seven games.

A standout at both Tulane and Villanova, Daniels battled challenges like COVID-19 and myocarditis but bounced back, averaging 14.2 points in his super-senior season. Now, with Miami’s reputation for developing G-League players into reliable contributors, fans are eager to see if Daniels will follow in the footsteps of past success stories. Could the Heat’s newest addition be the breakout talent they need? Only time will tell as the team enters training camp with a fully healthy roster.
