In a development that has caught the attention of both sports and entertainment circles, Dallas Mavericks head coach and NBA legend Jason Kidd has reportedly filed for divorce from his wife, Porschla Kidd. Sources close to the couple have cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, ending more than a decade of marriage.

Jason Kidd and Porschla first met in the mid-2000s, and their relationship became public in 2008. They married in 2011 and have three children together. Porschla, a former model, shifted her focus to philanthropy and family life after her marriage to Kidd, and the two were often seen as one of the NBA’s power couples.

While the exact cause of their separation remains private, insiders suggest that increasing strain due to Jason’s demanding schedule as the Mavericks’ head coach, coupled with personal differences that have emerged over time, contributed to the decision. Kidd, a Hall of Fame point guard and one of the NBA’s all-time greats, has spent the past few years heavily focused on his coaching career, including leading the Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals in 2022.

In a statement released by his representatives, Jason Kidd emphasized the couple’s mutual respect and focus on their children: “Porschla and I have decided to end our marriage amicably. Our priority remains the well-being of our children, and we ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter.”

Despite the divorce, both Jason and Porschla have expressed their intent to co-parent and maintain a positive relationship for the sake of their family. While this marks a personal chapter coming to an end for the Kidds, the NBA icon will continue his duties as head coach of the Dallas Mavericks.

This divorce marks the second time Jason Kidd has gone through a public separation. His first marriage to Joumana Kidd ended in 2007 amidst allegations of domestic issues. However, Kidd has since focused on his career, rising through the coaching ranks after a successful playing career.

The news has led to an outpouring of support from fans and the NBA community, many expressing their hope for the best for both Jason and Porschla as they move forward separately.
