Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. has confirmed the departure of versatile midfielder Ferdi Kadıoğlu, who has withdrawn from the Premier League club to sign a lucrative six-year contract with Dutch giants Ajax. The move marks a significant step in Kadıoğlu’s career as he transitions to the Eredivisie, a league renowned for nurturing creative talent.
Kadıoğlu, 24, joined Brighton in 2023 and quickly became a key figure in their midfield, known for his technical skills and playmaking abilities. However, with Ajax reportedly offering an ambitious role in their rebuilding project, the Turkish international decided to pursue this new opportunity.
Speaking about the transfer, Ajax Sporting Director Sven Mislintat expressed excitement about Kadıoğlu’s arrival, stating, “Ferdi embodies the creativity and versatility we value at Ajax. He will be a crucial part of our plans for the future.”
Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi praised Kadıoğlu for his contributions to the team, saying, “We wish Ferdi all the best in his next chapter. His presence on and off the pitch will be missed.”
The move signals Brighton’s intent to explore new midfield options during the January transfer window, while Ajax continues to solidify its squad in pursuit of domestic and European success.
