Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback Cooper Rush was involved in a minor traffic incident late Tuesday night in downtown Dallas. According to reports, Rush’s vehicle was sideswiped by another car at a low-speed intersection.
While the collision caused minimal damage to both vehicles, Rush was taken to a nearby hospital for precautionary evaluation. Medical staff have confirmed that he is stable and did not sustain any serious injuries.
The Dallas Cowboys released a brief statement following the incident:
“We are relieved to report that Cooper Rush was involved in a minor traffic incident and is currently under observation as a precautionary measure. He is in good spirits, and we expect him to return to team activities shortly.”
Rush has been a key part of the Cowboys’ quarterback lineup, often stepping up as a reliable backup to starter Dak Prescott.
Teammates and fans have expressed their relief on social media. Star receiver CeeDee Lamb tweeted: “Glad you’re okay, Coop. Can’t wait to see you back on the field!”
Local authorities have confirmed that no citations were issued, and weather conditions were clear at the time of the incident. Rush is expected to resume normal activities later this week.
