Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain has officially spoken out about his decision to retire from touring after over 40 years with the legendary band. In a heartfelt statement, McBrain shared his personal reasons, reflecting on his iconic career and emphasizing that he has no regrets.

McBrain, who has been a staple in Iron Maiden since 1982, cited health concerns and a desire to spend more time with his family as key factors in his decision. “The road has been my home for so many decades, but it’s time to step away,” McBrain said. “I’ve given everything I could to this band and to the fans. I have no regrets because I know we’ve made history.”

Over his career, McBrain contributed to some of Iron Maiden’s most influential albums, including *Powerslave*, *Seventh Son of a Seventh Son*, and *The Number of the Beast*. Known for his precision, power, and charismatic stage presence, McBrain has left an indelible mark on the heavy metal world.

He assured fans that while he’s retiring from the rigors of touring, he will remain connected to Iron Maiden, working behind the scenes on projects and continuing his legacy with the band. “Iron Maiden is a family, and I’ll always be a part of it. I’m stepping back, but I’m not stepping away entirely.”

The news of McBrain’s retirement stirred an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow musicians, celebrating his unparalleled contribution to music. His departure marks the end of an era for Iron Maiden, but as McBrain himself put it: “The music lives on. The history we’ve made together will never fade.”

The band has already announced Simon Dawson as their new touring drummer for the upcoming *Run For Your Lives* World Tour, set to kick off in May 2025.
