Leeds United has officially confirmed the departure of left-back Junior Firpo, who has signed a three-year deal with an undisclosed club.

The 26-year-old Spaniard joined Leeds from Barcelona in 2021 but found it challenging to secure a consistent spot in the starting XI during his tenure in Yorkshire.

Firpo made a significant impact during his time at Elland Road, contributing both defensively and offensively with key performances.

However, with the club’s recent changes and a shift in squad dynamics, the decision to pursue a new challenge was mutually agreed upon.

In a statement on social media, Firpo expressed gratitude to Leeds United fans and staff, saying, “I want to thank everyone at Leeds United for their support during my time here.

It has been an incredible journey, and I will carry the memories with me. I am excited about this new chapter in my career.”

Leeds United’s director of football commented on Firpo’s departure, stating, “Junior has been a valuable member of our squad, and we appreciate his contributions to the team. We wish him all the best for his future endeavors.”

The identity of Firpo’s new club has not yet been disclosed, but speculation is rife that it could be in one of Europe’s top leagues, given his pedigree and experience.

Fans are eager to see where the talented left-back will land as the transfer window continues to unfold.

Stay tuned for more updates on Junior Firpo’s next move and potential developments regarding Leeds United’s transfer activities.
