The Golden State Warriors have announced the signing of German basketball star Dennis Schröder to a three-year contract, strengthening their backcourt for the upcoming seasons. Schröder, a seasoned NBA guard known for his quickness and playmaking ability, joins the Warriors after a successful stint with the Los Angeles Lakers and a standout performance for Germany in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

The deal, which was finalized today, is expected to bring a boost to the Warriors’ depth and versatility, providing valuable experience and leadership alongside their already-established core. Schröder, who has played for several NBA teams since entering the league in 2013, is known for his scoring ability, quick decision-making, and ability to guard multiple positions. His addition offers the Warriors more flexibility in their backcourt rotation, complementing the likes of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

“We are excited to welcome Dennis to the Warriors,” said Golden State General Manager Bob Myers. “His experience, skillset, and leadership will make an immediate impact. He’s a proven competitor and brings a unique dynamic to our team, both offensively and defensively.”

Schröder had a standout 2023 FIBA World Cup, leading Germany to a gold medal and earning All-Tournament Team honors. His success on the international stage, combined with his NBA pedigree, makes him a key addition to the Warriors’ quest for another championship.

“I’m thrilled to join such a prestigious franchise with a championship pedigree,” Schröder said in a statement. “The Warriors have built something special, and I’m looking forward to contributing to their success and bringing my skills to the team.”

The signing marks a new chapter in Schröder’s NBA career and adds a dynamic piece to a Warriors roster aiming for continued success in the highly competitive Western Conference.
