why did he do that: Lenny Kravitz stops concert to…

No one lets Denzel go to voicemail. Lenny Kravitz even stopped a concert to take a FaceTime call from his close friend and “brother,” Denzel Washington.

In the middle of the show, Kravitz made sure to answer the call. Holding his phone, he addressed the audience, “I’m sorry, my big brother just called to say hi. Do you all know Denzel Washington?”

Kravitz then showed his phone to the excited crowd and the camera, revealing a smiling Washington on the other end. “Say hello to Italy,” Kravitz said to Washington before adding, “Alright, brother. I love you. I’ll call you later.”

The Grammy winner is currently on his international Blue Electric Light Tour, promoting his 12th studio album of the same name. He took the call during his stop in Italy over the weekend, performing at the Lucca Summer Festival and Umbria Jazz Festival. His next stops include Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, and Hungary.

Lenny Kravitz has revealed he’s celibate and hasn’t been in a serious relationship for nine years, calling it “a spiritual thing.” Kravitz and Washington have been friends for three decades. Washington was a guest speaker at Kravitz’s Walk of Fame ceremony in Hollywood in March, where he spoke about their “close brothership.” He said, “We have been tied together for a long time… we are brothers. I love Lenny Kravitz like no other brother in my life.”
