Ferland Mendy, Real Madrid’s dynamic left-back and a key figure in the club’s recent successes, has been rushed to the hospital in critical condition following a violent car crash on the outskirts of Madrid late Tuesday evening.
According to local authorities, the accident occurred around 8:45 p.m. on the M-50 motorway near Getafe, when Mendy’s vehicle reportedly lost control and collided with a guardrail before being struck by an oncoming vehicle. Emergency crews were on the scene within minutes and confirmed the 30-year-old was found unconscious and suffering from severe head trauma and internal injuries.
🚑 He was immediately transported to Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, where he is currently in the intensive care unit. Doctors describe his condition as “critical but stable,” and have said the next few hours are “crucial for his recovery.”
