In an unexpected turn of events, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has announced his resignation, effective immediately. Sirianni, who led the Eagles to the Super Bowl in just his second season with the team, cited personal reasons for his departure.

The decision has taken many by surprise, as Sirianni had recently signed a contract extension through 2027. His sudden exit raises questions about the future direction of the Eagles, who were considered strong contenders for the upcoming season.

In a statement, Sirianni expressed his gratitude for the support of the Eagles organization and fans. “This was a difficult decision, but it is the best choice for me and my family at this time. I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to have been a part of this incredible team.”

The Eagles have not yet named an interim coach or begun the search for a permanent replacement. Team owner Jeffrey Lurie and general manager Howie Roseman will be addressing the media later today to discuss the next steps.
