In a heartwarming and inspirational move, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs’ rising star centre, Stephen Crichton, has invested a staggering $6.5 million of his personal earnings to convert a large residential property in Western Sydney into a shelter dedicated to supporting homeless and at-risk youth.

The new facility, set to open later this year, will provide safe housing, meals, counselling services, education programs, and job training to help young people rebuild their lives.

I’ve seen too many young kids lose their way because they didn’t have a safe place to go,” Crichton said in an emotional press conference. “This is more than charity — this is about giving them a real second chance.

The shelter, named “Crichton House”, will have the capacity to house over 40 youth at a time, with plans to expand its outreach through partnerships with local schools, community leaders, and mental health services.

The NRL community has praised Crichton’s decision, calling it a powerful example of using one’s platform for lasting change. Fans across Australia have taken to social media to commend the young star for his compassion and leadership.

With this bold initiative, Stephen Crichton is not only building a future on the field — but changing lives off it.
