Breaking News:  Former Fijian rugby Marika Koroibete Terminates Contract, Signs 5-Year Contract Deal with Fiji Rugby…

Suva, Fiji – July 21, 2025 – In a stunning development that has sent shockwaves through the rugby world, former Fijian international and Wallabies star Marika Koroibete has officially terminated his overseas contract and signed a five-year deal with Fiji Rugby.

The announcement was confirmed this morning by the Fiji Rugby Union, marking Koroibete’s full-time return to represent his home nation in both 15s and sevens formats.

> “It’s a proud moment to come home,” said Koroibete in a brief statement. “I’ve achieved so much overseas, but now it’s time to give back and help take Fijian rugby to the next level.”

Koroibete, 32, has been a standout performer for the Wallabies since making his debut in 2017, after transitioning from rugby league. His explosive pace, physicality, and try-scoring ability made him one of the most feared wingers in the game. More recently, he played for the Saitama Wild Knights in Japan Rugby League One.

Fiji Rugby Union CEO, Peter Mazey, hailed the signing as a “massive win” for the nation’s rugby ambitions.
