In 2024, the Oklahoma Sooners are prepared to put an end to the SEC’s offenses. Tuesday saw a slight improvement in an already potent secondary. Jocelyn Malaska, a former cornerback for Utah, declared his commitment to Oklahoma

The 185-pound, 6-foot-1 cornerback still has three years left to be eligible. He fortifies the Sooners’ already formidable secondary, which should aid them in stopping elite passing teams. Head coach Brent Venables has several roster gaps to fill because the Sooners have lost a number of players. Adding Malaska to the roster is the first step in roster expansion.

The Sooners have a few advantageous games at the start of the season. The season’s second half is particularly harsh. They have games against Ole Miss, Missouri, LSU, and Alabama in four of the past five weeks. The program will benefit from having the early portion of the season to iron out any kinks before facing their most difficult opponents. More significantly, because they have missed many of the best portal targets, the team needs to address its quarterback issue.

2024: Will the Oklahoma Sooners be able to compete? Though the roster still has a lot of work ahead of it, the offseason is long over.
