It is unlikely that Nick Caserio will soon make a trip back to his former haunts.

On SportsRadio 610 on Tuesday, the general manager of the Houston Texans and former executive of the New England Patriots was questioned over a story stating that he “would be open to a return to New England if such an arrangement could be worked out.” He was quite apparent that there are gaps in the report’s credibility.

“I will attempt to remain silent for a little while, but let me just clarify that a lot of things are said this time of year, and anyone who makes a crass claim that they know me or that they can rely on this information is genuinely completely wrong,” Caserio said.

“I would say that I am appreciative of this opportunity. With all due respect, I am aware that many reporters believe they have inside information, but this is silly season. It occurs annually, whether it is around the draft or during the January–February coaching turnover cycle.

Jason La Canfora, a journalist for the Washington Post and purported “NFL insider,” released the aforementioned report. Caserio, however, was quite clear in stating that none of the sources were directly related to him and that their claims were accurate.

“I don’t talk to anyone. He stated, “I try to just focus on the things I control, show up, attempt to perform my job, and support the people I’m with on a daily basis. I try not to worry about certain casual remarks that are made out of the blue that, quite honestly, have zero merit.

“Maybe you could speak with me about this first before disseminating some information that truly has no basis, whoever these reporters are that make these absurd claims are.”
