With their Wild Card rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles approaching, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are making a few housekeeping changes. Deadrin Senat, a seasoned defensive tackle, was re-signed by the team and added to the practice squad on Tuesday. In response, the Buccaneers let loose linebacker Vi Jones, a second-year player, to make room on the roster.

Senat has spent most of the previous two seasons switching between the main roster and the practice squad for Tampa Bay. In order to make place for rookie wide receiver Rakim Jarrett, the organization released him on January 5 after promoting him to the active roster on December 16. The logical next step in the process is to add him back to the practice squad.

Throughout the season, the sixth-year defensive tackle has made three appearances for the Buccaneers. Only one total tackle, which occurred during the October loss to Buffalo, has been documented by him. Senat received increased playing time in 2022, finishing with 17 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 tackles for loss in 12 games. The Atlanta Falcons selected Senat in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. In his rookie campaign, he played in 15 games with two starts, totaling 30 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and 2 quarterback hits. It was his most productive season to date.

Senat might be called up to the starting lineup in the unlikely event that Mike Greene’s calf injury prevents him from playing in the victory over Carolina.
