The Texas Longhorns find themselves bidding farewell to yet another star receiver as Adonai Mitchell officially declares for the NFL Draft.

This news adds to the string of departures hitting the Longhorns, with standout players like T’Vondre Sweat, Byron Murphy, Jonathon Brooks, Jordan Whittington, Xavier Worthy, Ja’Tavion Sanders, and Ryan Watts all setting their sights on the next level.

Continuing the expected trend, Mitchell made his draft intentions public through a post on his Instagram account. His decision comes after a season with the Horns where he left an indelible mark on the offense, emerging as a key component in the passing attack and delivering game-changing performances during crucial moments.

Mitchell wasted no time making an impact, securing three touchdowns in his initial two games with the Horns, including a memorable two-touchdown performance in the significant victory against Alabama in September. Throughout the season, he continued his stellar form, finishing with seven touchdowns in the last eight games and even contributing to the Sugar Bowl CFP Semi-Final despite the team’s loss to the Washington Huskies.

Notably, the touchdown against the Huskies marked his fifth playoff touchdown in as many appearances, with the previous four achieved during his time with the Georgia Bulldogs over the preceding two seasons.

Reflecting on his time with the Longhorns, Mitchell expressed satisfaction, stating, “All the things I wanted to do when I came here, I did. I met a lot of great people. I’ve got a lot of great relationships. You know, I’m Texas forever in my blood. I’m just glad I was able to come back home and play for my home.”
