One of the Philadelphia Eagles’ primary receiving threats won’t be with them when they go to Tampa Bay to play the Buccaneers in a wild card game.
Due to a knee injury, Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown will not play on Monday, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
The Eagles, who began the season with a 10-1 record, have stumbled, and they now need the services of the three-time Pro Bowler. Brown and the Eagles finished the season with a five-game losing streak and didn’t appear like the preseason Super Bowl favorites that they once were.
Brown had a career-high 106 catches for 1,456 yards and seven scores in his second season with the Eagles. In exchange for a first and third-round pick in 2022, he was dealt to the Eagles following three seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
Following the deal, Brown inked a $100 million, four-year contract with the NFC East squad. His arrival paid off handsomely, as he gave quarterback Jalen Hurts a top-tier wide receiver in the 2018 season, setting career highs with 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns.
