The Miami Dolphins’ performance versus Kansas City during Wild Card weekend was dreadful. Other than a stunning play by Tyreek Hill, they produced nothing little offensively over the whole game. The Dolphins have lost three straight major games and had a dismal offensive performance. Going from a club that may have been the top seed to the one that is already eliminated from the playoffs

Numerous Miami supporters have demanded a change at quarterback as a result of this, so if you’re Mike McDaniel, why not try to improve at that position rather than shelling out a fortune for Tua Tagavailoa? With the right quarterback, this Miami club is Super Bowl ready, despite his demonstrated inability to win pivotal moments.

The Dolphins ought to search free agency or the draft for a quarterback. They can still try to acquire Michael Penix Jr. at the later part of the first round by trading up, even though they do not have the first selection in this year’s draft. A much wiser course of action would be to acquire a productive quarterback through trade or free agency.

If Kirk Cousins could take this team deeper into the playoffs or at least win one, he would be a much better option than Tua. At minimum, McDaniel should take the opportunity to inquire about Kirk’s availability during the off-season.

With Cousins expected to become a free agency this offseason, the Dolphins ought to take a shot at improving at quarterback. Even though Cousins would be 36 the following season, prior to his injury, he was headed for his greatest year ever. It would be a significant improvement over Tua, who always seems to play his worst games in the biggest limelight, as aging quarterbacks can succeed in the current NFL.

Miami’s window of opportunity for a deep playoff run is closing, and Tua hasn’t shown that he deserves a huge contract. Despite having a 6-6 start to the season, the Buffalo Bills were able to win the AFC East in this year. Even though everything was going well for them this year, they were only able to score seven points in a game and make it out of the playoffs.

Miami might be a one-and-done team for many years to come if they decide not to draft a quarterback or go for Kirk Cousins. Although Tua had a fantastic regular season against the league’s worst opponents, Tyreek Hill is unquestionably their best offensive player. If Miami want to make it to the Super Bowl, they will need to upgrade.
