The Miami Dolphins confirmed the signing of eight players as the process of assembling the 2024 roster got underway, shortly after General Manager Chris Grier spoke about the future of notable players. The Dolphins declared that the following players have been signed to reserve/future contracts: LB OL Chasen Hines, DT Brandon Pili, WR Braylon Sanders, TE Tanner Conner, T Ryan Hayes, CB Ethan Bonner, DT Quinton Bell, and WR Anthony Schwartz. With the exception of Bonner, who was activated for the playoff matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, all eight players finished the 2023 season on the Dolphins practice squad.

As an undrafted rookie free agency from USC, Pili actually reached the first 53-man roster before being removed and signing again to the practice squad. He made four appearances in games. Conner was the only other Dolphins player to play in a game this season, aside from Pili and Bonner. Hayes was selected by the team in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft. After being cut from the Indianapolis Colts practice squad and waived, he signed with the Dolphins again.

For nine more days, the remaining players who concluded their season on the practice squad will remain exclusively available for negotiations with the Dolphins; after that, they will become “street free agents.” The following players were on the Dolphins practice squad: TE Nick Bowers, DT Darrynton Ev, Byron Cowart, and Justin Ellis, the tackle
