Leo Carlin, a Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Famer, passed away.

He was eighty-six.

The cause of death remains undisclosed.

Carlin began his career with the Eagles in 1960, working in the ticket department. In 1964, he was promoted to the front office.

According to NBC, Carlin is recognized for having assisted the Eagles in becoming the first NFL team to combine computer data processing and ticketing.

“Leo Carlin’s passing deeply saddens us,” stated a statement from Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie. For an incredible 55 years, Leo handled our ticket office and was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame in 2010. All who had the honor of coming into contact with him felt his soft and friendly disposition. Leo was not only a fantastic team ambassador who worked hard to establish and preserve strong bonds with both our season ticket holders and the general public, but he was also a valuable resource for me and everyone else in our company.

“Always leading the way in innovation within his industry, he was essential in overseeing our ticket operations at Franklin Field, Veterans Stadium, and Lincoln Financial Field,” he added. “His pleasant demeanor, his willingness to help people, and his characteristic “Sterling!” response to inquiries about his well-being will always be remembered. I offer the Carlin Family my sincere sympathies and sincere prayers on behalf of the whole Eagles family as well as our supporters.
