SHOCKING:fired up signee about future with Tigers

AUBURN, AL—A Top 100 player nationally and one of two Auburn signees in the 2024 class, 6’6 Jahki Howard returned to school Saturday to watch Bruce Pearl’s No. 16 Tigers defeat LSU, improving to 14-2 overall and 3-0 in SEC play. Howard, who has only been a part of the Auburn programme for a few months, said he has enjoyed watching the team maintain its success.

“It was amazing,” Howard added. “It was a lot more fun than I expected. I didn’t expect it to be like this. You usually hear stories, so it was a positive experience.”

Howard, a terrific perimeter player who can play above the rim, is one of the country’s most dynamic players. With the opportunity to pay for the up-tempo game, he said he enjoys watching Auburn and how they allow players to make plays. Coming in with AAU teammate Tahaad Pettiford offers Howard a better understanding of what to anticipate when he arrives to Auburn.

My teammate (Tahaad Pettiford) is likewise committed and a fantastic point guard. I notice how they push the floor and connect to the alleys. It’s going to be a fun experience given how fast they play. They are always on the run.

“It’s pretty amazing,” he said of walking in with Pettiford. “He is a special player. He’s a one-hit wonder and most likely one of our class’s top scorers. It’s a lot of fun playing with him, but I’m also aware that all of the attention on him will cause me to open up and allow him to locate me.”
