The Oklahoma Sooners are gearing up to stop the offenses of the SEC in 2024. They already have a strong secondary but on Tuesday it got a little stronger. Former Utah cornerback Jocelyn Malaska announced that he has committed to Oklahoma.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback will have 3 years of eligibility remaining. He strengthens an already strong secondary for the Sooners which should help them shut down top passing offenses. The Sooners have seen a lot of players leave so head coach Brent Venables has some holes to fill on the roster. Getting Malaska is one step in filling out the roster.

The beginning of the season sees some favorable matchups for the Sooners. The back half of the season is brutal. In four out of the last five weeks, they play Ole Miss, Missouri, LSU, and Alabama. The good news for the program is that they will have the first part of the season to work out some kinks before playing their toughest matchups. More importantly, the team needs to figure out their quarterback situation as they have missed a lot of the top portal targets.
