When Alabama Crimson Tide starting quarterback Jalen Milroe initially decided to return to Alabama for another season with the team, he thought he would still be coached by legendary head coach Nick Saban. But after Saban’s abrupt retirement, he’ll now be playing for new coach Kalen DeBoer, but it sounds like the two already have a good relationship.

During a recent interview during the broadcast of a men’s basketball game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers, Jalen Milroe opened up about getting to know Kalen DeBoer as his new head coach.

“I’m big on relationships and you know, something I try to do is just really get to know my new head coach, and he’s done a really good job with the squad,” Milroe said according to On3. “He brings a good energy within the building.

There will undoubtedly be a lot of changes at Alabama as DeBoer takes over the team, but as a returning senior who has been with the team for a long time already, Jalen Milore will hope to be a stabilizing force and a leader for the team heading into next season. We’ll have to see how DeBoer’s first season goes.
