Since the beginning of their history, your Los Angeles Lakers have always been about star players. It is what has driven them to find success over the years and has helped them become one of the biggest brands in the world.

Even today, the Lakers are still star-driven and it has helped them stay relevant. With future Hall of Famers LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the roster, the Lakers are consistently seen as title contenders.

However, this isn’t the case with how the team has played. The Lakers could be looking for a major shakeup this coming offseason, and have they been looking at a few All-Star guards to help make it happen, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

“The Lakers have discussed internally the possibility of packaging three picks, along with players they already have on their books, to pursue a bona fide star, such as Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers or Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks, team sources told ESPN,” McMenamin writes.

If the team could land either Donovan Mitchell or Trae Young, it would be a massive game-changer for them. Both players could swing the ride in the Lakers’ favor, and it does make sense to go after them.

They have been linked with Young in the past and could finally try to actually land him. His shooting ability would be a welcome sight in Los Angeles, but Mitchell remains the more intriguing target.
