The Miami Dolphins continue to look for ways to break through the NFC after failing to break past the divisional rounds.

One of the areas they look to address in the offseason is their defense after their defensive coordinator left for another opportunity. They might have found the right candidate as they try to bring back one of the better defensive coaches back to the NFL:

Miami Dolphins look to Leslie Frazier for Defensive Coordinator Opening

According to The Spun’s Andrew Gould, the Miami Dolphins recently invited Leslie Frazier to interview to replace former defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who left the team for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Frazier is a seasoned NFL coach with plenty of experience under his belt. Gould provided a quick rundown of his coaching career so far:

Frazier has spent over two decades in the NFL with numerous teams. He’s served as a defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and most recently the Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo boasted a top-five defense in four of Frazier’s six seasons with the organization. The Bills allowed an NFL-low 272.8 yards and 17.0 points per game in 2021 before ceding the fourth-fewest yards and second-fewest points in 2022.

Following the 13-3 season, Frazier decided to take a year away from coaching with plans on returning in 2024.

Frazier also served as Minnesota’s head coach from 2011 to 2013 after closing 2010 in the interim role. The Vikings went 21-32-1 with one playoff appearance.

It was clear during the Miami Dolphins’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card round that they could not stop the Chiefs from doing whatever they wanted. By getting a coach with a stellar defensive record like Frazier, the Miami Dolphins boost their chances of making the Super Bowl.

Tyreek Hill uses Dan Campbell’s story to support Mike McDaniel

Aside from a new defensive coordinator, Mike McDaniel’s ability to lead the team to a deep postseason run is also put into question. Some are already wondering if the young head coach is the right man that would take the team back to the big dance.

Tyreek Hill made sure to let everyone know that he fully supports McDaniel. He had this to say about his head coach’s detractors, per ClutchPoints’ Andrew Meyers:

“Everybody forgetting Coach Dan Campbell was 3-13 I think his first year in Detroit,” Hill said on X.

“I say that to say what Coach McDaniel is doing in Miami is already special, it’s understandable expectations are high keep them that way,” Hill said.

McDaniel’s time with the Miami Dolphins may already be at risk, but it’s great to know that the team’s marquee wideout is in full support of his head coach.
