During an update from the Battle Miami 7-on-7 tournament, On3’s Sam Spiegelman noted that Grimsley High School quarterback Faizon Brandon will trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, this weekend to see the Vols. This will be Brandon’s fourth trip to Tennessee, and he’s a name that the coaching staff likes a lot. Brandon has tripped to Duke and North Carolina this month, and Tennessee continues to make him feel like a priority. He attended the Georgia and Texas A&M games in Neyland Stadium this year after earning an offer from Tennessee during a summer cap. The talented rising junior threw for 3,026 yards for a 13-1 team that lost in the semifinals of the state playoffs. Brandon accounted for 45 touchdowns against just three interceptions during his sophomore season. “It was great; this is my third time being at Tennessee, and every time I go, the coaches make me feel like a priority,” Brandon stated after watching the Vols lose to Georgia. The Vols lost by four touchdowns to Georgia, which many assumed would hurt their chances with recruits.
Brandon didn’t see it that way. “I would say how when they lost, the coaches still kept their composure and didn’t put the players down and just stayed positive after that.” An important point of a visit is speaking with the staff. Brandon talked about his experience talking to the staff by saying, “I talked to Coach Mitch [Militello], and he was just telling me how there were some things they could work on and how he has seen Joe Milton grow a lot as a QB and mature to handle that game like he did.” Tennessee’s coaching staff prioritizes consistent communication, and Brandon already feels that. “Every time I am in Tennessee, the coaches come and talk to me and my family while we eat or are on the field about how everything is going and how my past games went, and also talk about how they can get me back up to visit again.” When asked where Tennessee sits for him, the talented 2026 quarterback responded, “Yes sir, Tennessee is definitely in a top spot, and I want to get back down there; I just don’t know when yet.”
