Canales released the book in September 2022 while still serving as a position coach for the Seattle Seahawks. This was one year before he received his big break and was hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as offensive coordinator in 2023, putting him one step away from becoming head coach.
The couple explained that they wrote the book to support other married couples who were having marital difficulties.
Sixteen months after co-authoring a faith-based book about overcoming issues with his sexual infidelity, addiction to pornography, and binge drinking, Dave Canales is prepared to take on his new role as head coach of the Carolina Panthers.
Canales and his wife Lizzy wrote the book “This Marriage? The Question That Changed Everything.” It describes the 42-year-old coach’s efforts to overcome his issues and the couple’s return to a strong, Christian-based union.
Canales said that he had entirely stopped drinking and that he no longer has problems with infidelity or pornography thanks to family support and counseling.
